- ListMaker V4.0 -

Requirements: At least 512K
Well I couldn't find a good short & simple program to keep a list of all
my Videotapes in order, so I wrote one! This program can also be used for
any type of list, since it will let you rename the title of the MOVIES
column and the TAPE# column. (pronounced "fleks' a bil a tee"!)
It is also much easier than loading up a complicated database program..
It will handle up to 1000 items in the list, and will also alphabetize
the list for you.
If your printer supports REVERSE LINEFEEDS (and if you are using the
right printer driver that also supports them - like the Star NX-10 driver
which I included with this program), you will be able to print 2 or 3
columns on a page!
Here is a simple summary of the commands:
Create:
-------
This will let you create a new file... If the file already exists on the
disk, it will inform you of that fact and ask whether you want to <A>dd
to the existing file or <R>eplace the existing file.
Add:
---
This will let you add more items to an existing file. After adding items
however, the list will be out of order, so you should then select
ALPHABETIZE to put the list back in order. (In future versions I may have
this done automatically after ADDing)
Alphabetize:
-----------
This puts the items in a list in alphabetical order.
View file:
---------
Lets you view a list from disk. You can abort reading the file by pressing
any key.
Print:
-----
OK this part is important! If you are NOT using a printer (and driver)
which support REVERSE LINEFEEDS, you MUST use the top menu to select
printer type OTHER. This will print your list 1 column per page.
If your printer does support this feature, then it will print 1 column
then backup to the top of the page and print the 2nd column, and do the same
thing for the 3rd column (if there are that many items in your list).
There is a menu at the top that lets you select either 3 columns per page
(150 items a page -condensed mode) -this is the default, or 2 columns
per page (100 items a page -normal print).
Directory:
---------
Gives you the current disk directory.
Select Current Directory:
------------------------
Lets you specify the drive or pathname of the directory you want to be
your CURRENT directory (CD).
If you specify pathnames, you don't have to type the entire path in at
the Filename> prompts, only the filename itself.
Scratch a file:
--------------
Kind of self-explanatory?
One note: Wildcards (#?) cannot be used. If you are unsure of a filename
just check the directory.
Well that's about all I guess, Listmaker is pretty simple to use. If you
have questions and would like to get in touch with me I can be reached on
GEnie as LYoung1, CI$ (74606,3504), or my BBS - The Equinox BBS in Easton,
Pennsylvania - 215-250-9467 (300/1200...24 hrs...C64,Amiga,C128).
This program is shareware, and can be freely distributed as long as this
DOC file remains with it, and also the great NX-10 printer driver. It
can be put on Public Domain disks with my consent. If you like this
program and use it often, and would like to be informed of any future
updates and improvements, send a contribution of $10 to me at:
Laura M. Young
702 Whitney Ave.
Easton, PA 18042
This will entitle you to any future versions...
<Enjoy!>
